Do I need Xero?
For the accounting side, yes: NamaCor syncs both ways with Xero. You can quote, clock in and invoice before you connect Xero.
Will my crew actually use it?
That's the point: they clock in on their phones, iPhone or Android, with nothing to install from an app store.
How long does it take to get going?
You create your company in a minute. Your first project, first quote and crew can be set up the same week.
How does the free trial work?
30 days, no credit card. You can connect Xero's demo company or your own.
Where is my data stored?
Your database and files are stored in Canada, in Montréal. The Security page names the providers that also process data.
Is the sync really two-way?
Yes. Documents go from NamaCor to Xero. Payment status, amounts paid and paid dates come back, along with your chart of accounts, tax rates and tracking categories. Payments are entered or reconciled in Xero, where your bank feed lives; NamaCor reads them near real time.
How are GST and QST handled?
Computed independently at 5 % and 9.975 %, not compounded, each rounded to the cent at the document level. The rates are frozen on each document when it is created. Taxes are then allocated line by line so that Xero's totals equal the PDF.
Who can see rates, costs and margins?
Only the owner and office roles. Field users see their assigned projects, their own hours, the daily log and the schedule. Workers' internal rates live in a table only the owner can read, and the rule is enforced in the database, not just in the interface.
How are supplier bills read?
You forward them to a dedicated address or drop them in the inbox. The document is read by AI: vendor, invoice number, dates, subtotal, GST, QST, total and line items. NamaCor suggests the project and cost code from your past coding and flags possible duplicates. A person confirms before it becomes a cost.
Can Namaca set it up for us?
Yes. Namaca provides finance and accounting services: we configure Xero, design the cost codes with you, train the office and, if you want, keep the books.
What is the difference between an admin and a field employee?
An admin runs the company from the office: clients, quotes, costs, invoices and approvals. A field employee uses the app on their phone to clock in, enter hours and see their schedule and to-dos.
Do prices include taxes?
No. Prices are in Canadian dollars; GST and QST are added.
What happens if I stop?
Every invoice and cost is already in Xero: your accounting never depends on NamaCor. Project data can be exported on request.
