Do I need Xero?
For the accounting side, yes. NamaCor is built around Xero's Accounting and Projects APIs. Bills and invoices sync with any Xero plan; time entries need Xero Projects. You can quote, log hours, code bills and invoice before connecting; nothing syncs until you do.
Is the sync really two-way?
Yes. Documents go from NamaCor to Xero. Payment status, amounts paid and paid dates come back, along with your chart of accounts, tax rates and tracking categories. Payments are entered or reconciled in Xero, where your bank feed lives; NamaCor reads them near real time.
How are GST and QST handled?
Computed independently at 5 % and 9.975 %, not compounded, each rounded to the cent at the document level. The rates are frozen on each document when it is created. Taxes are then allocated line by line so that Xero's totals equal the PDF.
Who can see rates, costs and margins?
Only the owner and office roles. Field users see their assigned projects, their own hours, the daily log and the schedule. Workers' internal rates live in a table only the owner can read, and the rule is enforced in the database, not just in the interface.
Can my crew use it on a phone?
Yes. NamaCor installs from the browser on iPhone and Android, opens full screen and keeps hours and log entries when the signal drops, then syncs them when it returns.
How are supplier bills read?
You forward them to a dedicated address or drop them in the inbox. The document is read by AI: vendor, invoice number, dates, subtotal, GST, QST, total and line items. NamaCor suggests the project and cost code from your past coding and flags possible duplicates. A person confirms before it becomes a cost.
Where is my data hosted?
The database and files are hosted in Canada (Canada Central). Xero tokens are stored encrypted. Every table is protected by row-level security. See the Security page for details.
Is it available in French?
The interface is in French (fr-CA) and English (en-CA), chosen per user. Quotes, invoices and client emails follow the client's language. Amounts read 1 234,56 $ and dates YYYY-MM-DD.
What does it cost?
Plans are per company, per month, in Canadian dollars, and field users are free on every plan. See Pricing.
Can Namaca set it up for us?
Yes. Namaca is an accounting practice: we configure Xero, design the cost codes with you, train the office and, if you want, keep the books.
What counts as an office user?
Anyone with the owner or office role: they manage clients, projects, quotes, costs, invoices and approvals. Field users log hours and the daily log on their projects and are free on every plan.
Do you charge per project?
No. Projects, clients, quotes, invoices and documents are unlimited on every plan.
How does the free trial work?
Thirty days, no card. You create your company in a minute; you can connect Xero's demo company or your own organisation. If you continue, we simply keep going.
Can my accountant use it?
Yes, and their seat is free. They see the same Finances, invoices, bills and sync log you do, and everything is already in Xero.
What happens if I stop?
Because every document lands in Xero, your accounting never depends on NamaCor. Project data can be exported on request.
Do you offer setup or bookkeeping?
Yes. Namaca is an accounting practice. Business includes Xero configuration and cost-code design; bookkeeping and month-end can be added on any plan.
